Guiminer on Linuxcoin problems

(1/1)

mistatan:
I have been having difficulty using the Guiminer that's on Linuxcoin. I have linuxcoin running off of a usb and have already updated everything and agreed to the license but when I try mining using guiminer it gets stuck on "connecting." I have tried switching pools (bitclockers and slushy) but still no luck. The only thing in the console says "Listener for "XXX": Wrong platform or more than one OpenCL platorms found, use --platform to select one of the following." Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks

mistatan:
I got one card to work, but the other card doesn't seem to want to do anything... still getting the Listener for "XXX": Wrong platform or more than one OpenCL platorms found, use --platform to select one of the following." in the console.

Any ideas on how to get the second card to work?

zeronic:
GUIminer is a very basic miner, not for use with more advance setups. Try download and installing CGminer and see how that works for you.

mistatan:
Thanks for the suggestion but I am using  GUIminer because it is basic. If i am still getting an error using such a basic mining program then i dont think i should switch just yet.

Did you even bother to lookup in to the error your getting-- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=printpage;topic=60244.0

2nd If your using nVidia GPU STOP RIGHT NOW, they won't make you anything passed paying the electric bill.

3rd CGMiner is better for linux / windows multi GPU setups, which is what you have.

GUIminer is nothing more than a GUI to CLI converter, which mean it can't do a whole lot on its own. CGminer on the other hand is capable of auto fan control, restarting GPU when the get sick and a lot more. When I had CGminer running on my old GPU rig it would run for weeks without issues.
