Using openCL miner on 6970 at 880 core 1375 mem I tried using MSI Afterburner to downclock my Mem but as soon as the workload raises the clocks raise automatically.
Flags: -v -w128
367 - 369 Mhash/s

Update: overclocked my 6970 Core to 950 @1.181v mem 900
using Flags: -v -w 128
pulling 408 Mh/s now an have a nice low stale/reject rate.

I'm getting 375 mh/s on each core on my 5970, I have the core at 900 mhz oc and voltage at like 1.113 ram is stock I think 1 ghz. I had to turn the fan up to keep the card cool or it would throttle. I havent experimented much going past 900 mhz on core it usually throttles and ends up getting less mh/s in gui miner. I'm using phoenix BFI_INT AGGRESSION=12 worksize=256. The cores are pretty hot but not hot enough to cause throttling, its probably the VRMs that overheat first. I can probably get this badboy going at over 800 MH/s if I can find a way to keep it cool. I also have another rig with a 4870 in it and its getting 100 MH/s not O/Ced. I have two 6950s on the way this week and I'll probably put those in there as well unlock the shaders and overclock.  ;D

ATi Radeon HD 6970
______________________________________________________________________________________
Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 6970
phoenix miner (on windows xp sp3, 32 bits)
880MHz GPU clock (default)
1375MHZ Memory Clock (default)
68*C @ 64% fan speed (room temp 25*C)
68*C @ 74% fan speed (room temp 30*C)
Flags: -k phatk poclbm VECTORS BFI_INT AGGRESSION=7 DEVICE=1 worksize=128 FASTLOOP=false
402Mhash/s

just to keep in mind, using the same settings above (defaults and flags) and the GPU clock at 950MHz gives only 355Mhash/s

edit: 406 to 435 Mhash/s with new phoenix + modified kernel.cl, 880MHz GPU clock

just to keep in mind, using the same settings above (defaults and flags) and the GPU clock at 950MHz gives only 355Mhash/s

The reason your getting lower numbers when overclocks is you need to raise the power control settings in CCC to +5% this will stop the card from throttling when mining.

I get about 6.4 MHash/s using guiminer, OpenCL and a nVidia GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB GDDR3 card. On a laptop.
I also get the same amount with an 8600 GT 256 MB using CUDA.

PNY Nvidia 9800GTX
phoenix miner (on windows xp sp3, 32 bits)
800MHz GPU clock (overclocked)
1200MHZ Memory Clock (default)
57*C @ 100% fan speed
63*C @ 75% fan speed
72*C @ 50% fan speed
Flags: none
40.1Mhash

Yeah... its pathetic. I'm looking at buying a 5870. Regarding Mhps: Is there a difference between the 1GB and 2GB models of the ATi Radeon HD 5870?

Sapphire Radeon HD5870 Eyefinity 6
Phoenix Miner (Win-7 SP1 64bit)
980Mhz GPU (Overclocked from 850 MHz)
1200Mhz Mem (Underclocked from 4800Mhz)
GPU Volts @ 1212mv
50% Fan @ 68*C
Flags: -k phatk device=0 WORKSIZE=128 VECTORS BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false AGGRESSION=9

Doing about 400MHash While using the machine
About 420MHash when not

Changing aggression to something like 13 or 14 will get me up between 420/430 MHash but rig becomes slowww

Oh and naypalm, I've got a 2GB and I run an eyefinity setup but as far as mining is concerned mem size doesn't seem to matter.
I pull the same MHash as most of these guys and they all have 1GB cards I believe

Thanks for the response Slümdawg! I figured memory wasn't too much of a factor. I tried ordering a 5870 but found out that it was going to be back-ordered for a week so I ended up getting two XFX HD 6950 1Gb version as they were only $230 a piece. So far I've been getting 320Mhps from each, but unfortunately temps seem to get above 85C. I now have a box fan next to my tower!

XFX Radeon HD6950 1Gb
poclbm miner (Win XP Pro SP3 32-bit)
OC'ed @ 840Mhz GPU (default 800Mhz)
1260Mhz Memory (default 1250Mhz)
100% fan @ 80-85C :(
100% fan + 32" box fan @70C :)
Flags: -v -w128 -f30

320Mhps per card (both running poclbm), 330Mhps per card (one instance of poclbm)
Crossfire is disabled and not connected as it slowed the cards down tremendously and caused the "Verification failed, check hardware" message to popup. That was tricky but ended up getting poclbm to recognize both cards by extending the desktop to another monitor, then it worked just fine.

EDIT:
XFX Radeon HD6950 1Gb
poclbm miner (Win XP Pro SP3 32-bit)
OC'ed @ 890Mhz GPU (default 800Mhz)
650Mhz Memory (default 1250Mhz)
100% fan @ 75C
Flags: -v -w128 -f30
~350Mhps per card

HIS ATi Radeon HD 5870

1010/900
435Mh/s
65Celsius (I have a/c in the room, it's basically on all the time but without the a/c, the system goes up to 78C.)
Fan 70%(Again with a/c on, without a/c, I bump up the fan nto 90%)
Phoenix Miner
-k phatk VECTORS BFI_INT  FASTLOOP=false AGGRESSION=14 worksize=128 (For me this worked better than opencl miner)

Windows 7 64bit, with guiminer

ATI 6990HD
AMD ATI radeon manufacture "HIS"   HD 6990   ( 2 video cards in 1 ).

Standard non overclocked values.

Phoenix miner and CLminer
GPU Clock 830 MHz
Mem Clock 1275 MHz
Fan 70%
Temp ~78C
Flags: no flags set.
340Mh/s
When both GPU work at the same time I see speeds of 680 - 705 Mh/s  ( not overclocked, standard values )
The bitclockers website statistic show speed of 689.70Mh/s the last 15 minutes.   that is 2 gpu's running.

Overclocked..:  ( slight overclocked just to test ).
Phoenix miner and CLminer
Mem Clock 1250 MHz
GPU clock..: 880mhz
Fan 76%
Temp ~78C
Power control setting + 5%
Flags: AGGRESSION=7 -v -w 128
395Mh/s
When both GPU work at the same time I see speeds of 790 Mh/s
Website say 821.70Mhash/s  for last 15 minutes of work.

Power requirments..
about 5-6 kwh houres for every 10 houres. ( this is a very rough estimate )

Since this video card is 2 cards in 1 box, then you need to setup up the GUIminer software so that you have 2 users that both run a diffferent GPU ( 0-0 or 0-1 are the gpu names )  that way you can with 1 card do 2 cards work just as if it was Crossfire.  A good advice if you see slow speeds then run with 2 different GPU miners. For exampel GPU 1 run with Phonix and gpu run with opencl miner.  then both cards will give you 340Mh/s each.
When running with 2 GPU's the system become rather hot, so monitor it closly for 20 minutes and adjust the GPU fan speed manual in the AMD Overdrive panel ( catalyst control panel )  for me the fan speed of 70% will keep the GPU as a resonable level 75-79 degrees.  Make sure you have a good computer case with good cooling.
The best will ofcourse be if you have a water cooled GPU and cpu system.

I have a some updated settings to share with GUIminer users using the latest kernel from here http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=25860.0 7-11-11 rename kernel.cl to phatk.cl and paste it to your GUIminer folder make sure to backup the existing phatk.cl by adding .bak at the end of it incase you get worse results so you can go back. Then restart GUIminer if your using the default Poclbm miner you should get even better results. On my 6970's 940 core 840 mem using -v -w 128 -f 1 I went from 418 M/H's to 420.6 to 421.0 M/H's it's supposed to work for Phoenix too.

after constant testing with newest phoenix 1.6.4
best result this far
on my xfx v1 - 5870 running at 890 mhz with 450 mhz memory
-k phatk device=0 VECTORS BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false AGGRESSION=12 worksize=128
resulting in 378 Mh/s

never tried up to voltage on it to gain more speed

Is that just for mining?  If so, it would be marginally outperformed by a trio of 3x6950 setups at ~$1000 each.  Plus, you'll need either a) single slot/watercooled 6950's or b) PCIe extenders for that set up.  You could also run into problems getting 7 cards working.

8 PSU's seems like overkill to me.  The 6950's are going to draw less than 250W each (maybe a bit more if the ones you get have decent overclocking headroom - my Core i5 2500k @4.6 GHz + 2x 6950 2GB @stock [my XFX cards won't overclock at all] draws 420W total from the wall while mining).  2x 1000W is probably fine, 3x 750W or 3x800W would give you a decent margin of error and maybe save you some money.

If you decide to do this, I'd be interested to see how it works out for you.  I briefly considered doing something like this last summer, but then the Bitcoin market crashed and I shelved the idea.
